Disaster is a sudden, calamitous event bring great damage, loss, destruction and devastation of life and property. Disaster management is a discipline that involves preparing for disaster before it occurs, disaster response, as well as supporting and rebuilding society after disasters have occurred.  In general any disaster management is the continuous process by which all individuals, groups, industries and communities manage hazards in an effort to avoid the impact of disasters resulting from the hazard.  

Even though there are several laws and systems in place, the awareness and preparedness of the industry in man-made and natural disasters requires to be strengthened. It appears that the preparedness of the hazardous industries is not at the desired level. The govt. agencies that are to implement laws for disaster management also require the support and guidance of the Industry.

The objective of this workshop is to impart, knowledge, develop skills and re-orient attitude of industries and communities for mitigation and management of man-made as well as natural disasters.
